Just drive around and admire the wonderful views. We went almost 3 years ago to run in A2 No1 & stayed just outside Stirling.
The Famous Grouse was good but driving to from places is the bit which sticks in my mind.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a Merlot Red 1.4SE petrol originally.
Now an Ebony Black 1.4SE petrol with Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

Go West for the mountains - the Trossachs are beautiful as is Loch Tay, go on the quieter road on the south bank of the Loch for some great views of Ben Lawers, then drive up the road to the west of Ben Lawers and down through Glen Lyon, it's stunning scenery and very quiet. The Wallace monument in Stirling is worth the climb for the views if it's a clear day.

Go East for St Andrews and Arbroath for the famous 'smokies'.

If you want to visit a proper distillery forget the Famous Grouse experience and visit Edradour in Pitlochry - the smallest and friendliest I have ever been to (and I've been to a few distilleries - hick!!).

Thanks for the tips guys.
Really looking forward to it now.
I will do some of those things mentioned.
I ll let you knowhow i get on.

We walked to the top of the Wallace monument hill, then found out there is a minibus. D'oh.

Since 2 weeks we dont own an a2 anymore but I am sp pleased that someone mentioned that he should go to a anther distillery than the not so famous grouse.
As i am a member of a whisky soceity since 10 years I can recomend almost every distillery Edradouer is nice but If you like whisky visit the island Islay thats where the reel stuff comes from.

The distilleries in the south of the island - Lagavulin, Ardbeg and Laphroaig - produce the most strongly flavoured, phenolic whiskies in Scotland. The distilleries to the north - Bunnahabhain, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Bruichladdich tend to be of a lighter character, indeed some specify unpeated malt and draw their water direct from springs before it has had time to pick up much peat. In spite of this, they still taste peaty!
You will love it take a ferry leave your car on the other coast
