Timing belt, water pump and tensioner....

Hi guys

Was just wondering how much i should expect to pay to have the timing belt, tensioner and water pump serviced/replaced etc.

An independant garage has quoted £325, which i think is a tad steep.

I remember reading somewhere on this site about £250 or something from an audi dealer.

If anyone could post up a realistic price or a price that they paid that would be cool

Hi John,

Sorry not to get back to you sooner on this, but as you may have seen elsewhere, other things have been uppermost in my mind this last few days.

If that independant is supplying parts, then that's a good price. There is a long running offer at Stafford Audi of £275, but this doesn't include the price of a new water pump, tensioner and coolant. Add these parts in and you're looking at £350+

Cheers,

Mike

John,

Stafford Audi is "the" dealership that offers some very good deals; assuming that you are within striking distance of them. They advertise their services on ebay and those that have used them seem to be happy with the service that they have received for the most part. I, myself will be looking to them for my next service and future belt replacement.

Check out ebay for their latest offering and give them a call direct quoting the deal. I think circa £275 for a cam belt, but it will probably be a touch more to include the water pump; (worth doing at the same time though).

Cheers,

Darren
