Today I.....

I've got the 600 unit stuck to the rear n/s window and own one of those aerials that Paul has quoted.

If you are trying out keep us updated - i'm toiling still with reception and keen to understand if the aerial Paul has mentioned will indeed work better than the stick on!

It’s a case of altering the stick-on’s plug by ripping out all of the stick on part and adding a metal plate inside the plug where the connector sits. Working quite well even with a rubbish cheapo aerial so I’m looking forward to trying the decent one.

You got a pic? Sorry cant visualise very well :)

I bought a spare stick on aerial as well some time back so that i could go back if I cut and it didn't work...

No photo until I fit the other aerial when it arrives. The Pure 600 lives in the passenger side A pillar trim.

Today is the day that I thought would never happen....

Don't be a stranger mate. Will miss seieng you at socials.

Today I got home after my lap of England, the A2 was just a pleasure 1082 miles 66mpg, after 1hr45 crawling on the M5 through Bristol I even got to the giddy heights of 85deg C on the temp gauge, must do that tomorrow.
Lovely and smooth on the way back after the re-map and the wheel swap.

If it was working fine and now as white noise most likely the earth problem

Take the trim off the rail gate so you can see the module if std it’s on the drivers side about 18” down from the top of the tailgate if the diversity setup there is one either side in the same place as std and two more under the large oblong trim panel
Connect a jump lead from battery negative to the screw mount if the module. If the white noise disappears then you have the earth problem
The tailgate is earthed through wires that connect to the car roof

Thanks Paul, The radio has never been clear with the rear window on, apart from a 4 day period this week. Thanks for the advice and where to look, much appreciated. When I get a second I'll check it out. ;-) Cheers

Today I drove Cornwall to Nottingham, family stop plus pop in to @sciroccorrado to pick up some A1 alloys (thanks Jeremy), 69mpg for the day (still running cold, thermostat next job). Next stop Newton Aycliffe. If I keep on doing this car up I may need to start a project thread
Rob I just saw your post about the a1 wheels I wouldn’t mind a set myself but I wasn’t sure if they fitted, looking at your post they obviously do, just got to find some now !. Incidentally I’m off to Corn in a few weeks too. Mark.

Yep fit just fine with the original 215x45x16” I was away for a week so I had a pretty full car with all my kit and the original wheels in the back and had no rubbing at all, although I may move to 195x50x16” at the next pit stop to help economy further.
