Yesterday had 4 205/45 17s fitted. Car feels a little different but on wet roads it wasn't possible to see what they were like.
Annoyingly the RR door switch has failed again, I'm thinking either it was a poor 2nd hand one I fitted or there is a break in the wires in the B post to door. Very annoying having fixed it for 4 months.. also now have the brake pedal loss of servo assistance if using the brakes at engine idle. It's fine if the engine has been above 1500 rpm, but you can evacuate the servo with a few pumps at walking speed. Hopefull it's just a leaking vacuum pipe and not something more expensive or labour intensive like a servo or pump. As much as I love the car, it's clear that its age is playing a big part in the problems and I wonder how long it will continue to throw things at me and indeed how long I persevere with it.

Ok, so had 10 mins and had a look at the lock and brake issues.... lock sounds like dirt around the switch, a good soak of GT85 seems to have sparked it back into life.
However.... on removing the flexi hose to the left of the engine on the vacuum circuit i found diesel in the hose. This would indicate a failure of the pump I assume. Is this a serviceable item of just fit another?

Picked up my £30 exodus roof box (ebay bargain) had to buy a fitting kit, as seller had lost clamps. I Prefer the aero 'T' fitting kit anyway (less wind noise) Fitted ready for hols in December.

Have to adjust roof bars forward slightly, on full open of boot, glass just deflecting back of box slightly.
For info it's an Exodus roof box with dimensions
165 long
90 wide
40 high.
Think it's the 470l model.

Today I visited the Isles of Scilly, you don’t need an MOT here and the locals all moan about rusty cars due to the sea air, maybe the ideal spot for a FSI with a warning light on? Had a good walk round St Mary’s today but no A2’s spotted yet.

I wonder how much swearing there's been. Changing the dashboard is a total nightmare if you've not done it before.
In the day it occurred, they tried to convinced me that it was very fragile because of the sun and bla bla bla ...that it was an accident!
I accept that it was an accident ,but 🤷🏻‍♂️That was not cracked into a hundred pieces before ...
Yup it was a real nightmare...I went there during the job and it was ...nice ,that they were the ones doing it 😬
