Got into day 2 of fitting the ‘new’ intercooler to Tonka. Massive thanks to Ian @Proghound for letting me have it as after a little and a spot of paint fettling (from my ever capable engineer father!) it looks like new. It’s running very well up on the axle stands. Just need to ‘pop’ the bumper, wheel arch liners, undertray and wheels back on and it should then be ready for its MOT on 16th. 🤞

Great work Erling,

You’ll be out and about in it in no time sir. I dread the day I need to do this task.

Kind regards,

Tom

The worst bit is definitely getting at the various screws which seem to have been designed to be in the the most awkward to access locations possible!!!

I certainly have a (too) weak spot for these cars. Today it was impossible to resist this car. The owner, a former colleague, was about to scrap it but was open to swap it for a bottle of red wine!

Well I will give you 2 bottles of wine and a box of chocolates for it, I don't care the steering wheel is on the wrong side, it will be handy for taking to France to see friends and family 😀😂

I’d recommend the Google translate app.
Take a picture of the text and it gets automatically translated.
True, but it's a bit spotty and not great at target bodies of text.
Plus I'm rather looking forward to both the challenge and to becoming (somewhat) proficient in at least reading German.

Discovered what the rattling was from the drivers side of the car, replacement recommendations anyone? To be honest I’ve not felt any difference during the last few weeks since I noticed the noise!

This is my first chance of being able to look see with the wheels off

If oem is prohibitively priced (and I assume it is) I've used KYB on other cars but always replaced in pairs.

Technically not A2 related but still proud of it: found the culprit of the non working washer jets on our Xc70. Just a simple working your way back, but before I joined this forum I would have called my local garage straight away... Now, I am always going to try it myself 😉

I know what you mean, I feel the same whenever I achieve something simple on our family bus too.

Today I woke to snow on my pride and joys
It was the same here in Lincolnshire although only a dusting & I only took the winter wheels off Yesterday afternoon.
Just need to clean & polish them before putting away for the summer.
