Today I.....

So the 10tonne hydraulic hub puller was unable to budge the seized in driveshaft so this afternoon I have enjoyed removing the hub from the bottom of the strut (that was kinda seized too) and taking the hub with old driveshaft to the garage. After some abuse on their big hydraulic press the shaft came away.

In the process of doing this the ABS sensor was damaged (snapped off flush with the top face of the hub body). I have new sensors on the way.

With the outer CV removed from the hub I should be able to punch out/drill the remains of the ABS sensor right?

I suspect this rough treatment will have strained the wheel bearings. This isn't a job for now, I will address this when I do my suspension overhaul later this year. This current work is about getting the car safe, MOT'd and getting me to work!

Green loctite!

Run a drill about 4 mm down the remains of the abs sensor. Be careful that you don’t do too deep and damage the reflux ring on the bearing
I then use a stud extractor to remove the remains of the plastic abs sensor

I’ve had a da120 in mine for two years really impressed with it

this is an SPH-10BT; it has a full 31-band EQ available, Sub out, and it's completely mechless. Coolest track with the biggest surprises from last night has to be this:
- way more bass than I thought. Now to balance the amps against one another and set up the power correctly.... mids are still too loud, sub needs to come up a tad and the tweets are really relaxed. Might also try running REW off of a laptop just to see if I can get a better EQ setting.

That will be bearing fit then, no wonder it was tight then.

Today I gave the centres of my pepperpot wheels a refresh with Halfords grey bumper paint. Hopefully it doesn't crack the first time I remove them.
I also took delivery of an A6 leather armrest ever hopeful that someone with skills I don't have works out a way to fit them.

It was time for some TLC of my beloved A2 . So a wash, some clay and polish was on the program today. A good 5 hours was all it took?. Happy with the result, it was needed.
