Today I.....

I needn't bother doing much to mine before Scotland, it's the same colour as Darren's :D I know already that it's never going to look anywhere near as good. @Vorsprung durch Technik are you bringing your cobalt one as well?

Sorry Ian that will never get a showing not as long as Darrens cars about. ? It's the fsi pine green for us, drives fab just a shame the painters made a bit of a mess, nothing serious just oh so amateurish! I'm leaving the evidence for you lot to see, and it won't show in the pics. I'm not even sure it's worth me giving it much of a detail, Interior will get a clean and some Rainex applied, a must for a week up in Scotland, i say that in jest, but you get my point. ;) Lets hope we have Fab weather - will really make it a holiday of a lifetime.?

Mine's not all original mate, I wish it were. In fact I wish they made them today so I could go and buy a new one. The A2 wouldn't look out of place in a dealer forecourt in 2019 or later still. I guess Audi would command stupid money in today's world though and sadly it would have a front and rear end that looked like every other model they make, plus be steel based, losing its individuality and Vorsprung durch Technik along the way.

Well, ......... you know it's true!

The only way ours would ever compete with yours would be a full respray and as you know it's a dark art just finding a decent place who won't ask for 2 kidneys in exchange. ?

I too wish they still made them today more or less exactly as they originally did and would buy one for sure!

Imagine siting there choosing your colour, what options etc, would be like a kid in a sweet shop. If the car had stayed in production albeit in Mk2 guise perhaps ever so slightly bigger with the Polo TFSI engine in it, what a car that would have been. ?

Sorry to hear that, it's one of the reasons I struggle to pay people to do work for me, I can do my own amateurish work, free. I've plastered my hall and kitchen to a higher standard than 'plasterers' that did other rooms.
Rainex won't be needed for the upcoming social, though I have applied some just in case, will also pack the snow shovel. ?

Thanks, sadly it drives you round the bend. I do know of a couple superb places for a full respray, they're are perfection but they trade on their perfection and attract high value Porches and many VW show people. Superb work but at 12k just toooooo much.

Good call, i forgot about the need to pack a snow shovel! ??

We need photos, it's not 'that' dark. :D

So today

I completed the rebuild of my TT Front brake Calipers , using new pistons , seals slider pins , rubbers , anti rattle springs , and bleed valves

So from rusty pile of eBay rubbish to something you don’t mind working on

This is the 1st time I have rebuild a set of Calipers so dead pleased to have worked out how to get all seals and pistons back into place without throwing my toys out of the pram .....

Final degrease and last coat of paint to complete the job , ready for bolting up later into the year to Basil , along with the 312mm disc , polo hubs etc

Replace the starter motor to “ egg “ thanks to Pete for supplying a good used one , final job of the morning was to adjust the hand brake to Egg

That’s all folks!!
