Today I.....

Don’t forget the service requirements of the haldrex unit
VW Main dealers seem unaware!
Leading to costly failure/repairs
Exactly, although my Independent VAG Specialist suggested a Haldex service at the last service on our Kodiaq.

Today I had the pleasure of admiring @timmus ’s hard work in the cold light of day. Absolutely thrilled with the end result. Thanks Tom ??

Erling,

That all looks absolutely fantastic. You must be over the moon with the transformation. Your new items provide such a welcoming cabin and nice place to be in.

Can you add a more zoomed out picture of the dashboard (from the rear of the car with the tailgate open) to include your FBMFSW to show how different the Twist interior looks with a Soul Dashboard. As you know its something I’m considering and your interior is probably best match to mine right now.

Kind regards,

Tom

It had an oil change at 3 years, this is a 2018 with 120kkms, so it's relatively new but seen lots of action. It's also Haldex 5, so apparently 3 years is correct. Manual, too, so DSG oil changes aren't a problem.
Will have to see just how worn the shocks are, I know the current tyres are barely legal but they'll be replaced at purchase time.

The next (and basically final) two interior jobs are fitting the Re coloured auto dimming mirror I’ve re coloured and Tom added the loom for (we ran out of time yesterday) and removing and Re painting the grab bar above the glove box in twist.

Erling thank you very much,

Stunning!

Love the new toys you’ve had installed. A dramatic change that I know just feels right and I bet you enjoyed every minute of the return leg from Tom @timmus Towers.

Are you going to let on how much of a bargain that FBMFSW was?

That’s my mind made up. Project OEM will be having a Soul Double DIN Dashboard at the earliest opportunity.

The dilemma I have is I do have one here ready to go but that is reserved to have a mass retrofit session (Dashboard out, RNS-E, BT Tel Module, AMI Module, Arduino for Rear OPS Page and new dashboard transplanted) to transform the comforts in Project 250 when I can find a whole day spare to complete the work. Quite sure I’ll manage success in just 1 day with suitable breaks and no ‘pesky kids’.

Guess I’m on the lookout for another Soul Double DIN Dashboard for my A2. That said I could take the cage from the currently fitted Jive Double DIN Dashboard and fit it to the Single DIN Dashboard that’ll be removed from 250? I really need to understand how to swap the cages. Anyone got any advice?

Kind regards,

Tom

I am on the way to Coventry to collect Akoya, my recently purchased 2nd A2 from DS Motorsport, really looking forward to driving this MYP equipped TDI 90 home to East Devon and noticing the differences in character between the two cars.

On a train as I type this whilst sitting on the phone to Adrian Flux to arrange insurance...

I knew the car as it was local to me .. Was already a nice car you’ve taken it to another level well done cracking job ? it’s we’re i got the idea for those wheels I fitted the same on mine ..?
Thanks Paul, very kind of you but as ever, still plenty to do!

Are you running adapters or have you drilled them?

Today I recieved wheelbearings from SKF.
Swedish SKF made the box, that said "made in Brazil", inside bearings from German FAG, made in Slovakia.
Protection of your brand name is not that important anymore..
Not the first time SKF and Schaeffler group (FAG) find themselves in the same box.In 2014 they got a fine from EU of € 953.3 million for cartel behavior. Also in the ball bearing marked.
