Today I.....

Last weekend I finished installing door sound deadening. It takes some £, time and effort, but it's worth it.
Today, finally finished and got to enjoy the new sound setup, 4x 2 way speakers with passive crossovers and 4 channel amplifier.
Waiting for the weekend to put the subwoofer back in :)

Is the car quieter on the motorway? To me road roar through the tyres is the thing I would want to reduce, I wonder what effect doing the doors like this would have on that noise.

To me it feels that it is, I don't have any decibel numbers before vs after..
Before I finished, I drove a few days without door card and mounting plate (as on the photo above, without deadening, just with window motor hanging on cables), felt like the door was open. I think that a lot of noise comes through the door panels.
Next week I'll give a lift to a couple of passengers. I'll ask if they can feel the difference :)

More like yesterday, but anyway... 290 miles for 23 litres. I'm glad to have Alison at times like this where fuel is difficult to get hold of... Filled up yesterday! ? ? ? ? ? ?

...lost more knuckle skins removing and refitting trim panels. Gave up on removing the Temp flap motor as got angry lying on floor and footwell for too long. Fitted new drivers switch panel also and glove bow lid was changed for one that works. Car looks the same but to me its fresher :) these little monsters test your patience! Worth it tho. May attmept the EGR swap later and fit the brand new rocker cover from @CreweAudi to xolve my leak over the back.....

Afternoon Bob,

Is this from the mould that Steve @Birchall had made it from a new mould that someone else has had produced. Is there going to be a run of these available.

Kind regards,

Tom

Tom, as far as I know its not from the Birchall moulds. It came from Europe.

Damn, didn't think any like-new ones still existed. That's one holy grail of a purchase. ? (assuming this has indeed never been mounted - my understanding was that they are nigh-impossible to remove)
