Today I.....

As promised, here are the pictures with the wheel off;

I’m pleased to say springs look fully intact and most crucially, identical to the off side!

Sadly the tyre is in such a state I guess I’ll never know what caused it’s untimely demise. No sign of damage on the tread at all but the inside and out of the sidewall is in such a state I can’t begin to guess where the issue began.

Fortunately I’ve a spare of the same design with a budget tyre that it can sit on until the exhaust gets welded and I can face spending the money on another cross climate 2 😬
To me, the bottom 4 or coils are virtually coil bound. I'm not sure the remaining coils are enough to allow the full range of suspensions movement.
Surely it should look like this:

Furniture clinic delivery, I may have ordered a little too much

Hello Steve,

That’s a lot of product you have there. Cannot wait to see the results of what you’re embarking on. Good luck with the renovations.

Kind regards,

Tom

It’s just for the existing seats Tom, I bought enough to do them all again and again and again
I may do the steering wheel as well.

filled up for £1.67/l, been driving steadier in 90ATL lately. 435 miles driven and filled up with 32 litres. THink thats 62MPG?, chuffed with that 120bhp remap and 150K on clock. What an engine!
Very doable if you mainly do long journeys on A roads and motorways, keep to 65-70mph max and allow the speed to drop / increase up and down hills without applying more throttle. Otherwise I find it’s more like mid to high 50s if I do shorter journeys and 70 mph on cruise control.

Alison's front dampers have been replaced. A significant improvement in ride and handling, actually.

A couple of other little bits done too.

Faircrouch Garage, Wadhurst is a place I'd highly recommend.

Also had a quote for some bodywork as Alison is sorted mechanically.

Obviously a trip to the coast was necessary to test the dampers and stuff... 😁

Nice “Woollarding”

Have you seen the BBC News article today on the price of Aluminium.
Never mind the the catalytic thieves, better make sure the whole car is secure.
Good point and I will take this very seriously; there was a spate of Bus Stop Flag Posts in London a while back.

Problem got so bad that parts of London don't use the 'Truform'® designed poles anymore... 😱
