Information Today Tom ...

Well in this case, if we’re all posting, i’d Just like to say a massive thank you for the skills, professionalism, and genius Tom has been in looking after ours sons first car. Quite a few mods and I’m envious on how his cars turning out. If you are fortunate enough to own and look after an A2, Tom’s the man to keep it running tech wise for the future......as Audi would have wished.....Thanks Tom, the grateful Crick family.......

Today or more this evening Tom sussed out the knocking and yip, it looks like its the drivers side CV joint, cheers Tom, He was then off to another job from Leyland to north Manchester, dedication indeed.

Seller on ebay, JR brand, inner and outer at just under £30 per side, including new joints, clips, boots, grease, C clips etc
Had them on my A2 for 10K miles and been spot on.
Fitting is another thing, if the drive shaft as not been out of the hub before then you need a serious puller to get the shaft out of the hub, Audi fit it with anti fretting compound which is similar to thread lock so it is mega tight all the way out

Today Tom fitted cruise control, komfortblinker, & 2nd r/fog light to my A2. Usual highest quality work, fantastic. Not sure how I managed without cruise control up till now, also the komfortblinker is a real asset.
And got a guided tour around the fantastic garden at Tom's parents's house.

Thank you all very much for your kind words. Whilst I'm away doing 'A2 Tours', I get precious little time to look on the forum and see what's going on. It's very nice for me to log in and find that you're all so happy with my work. Apologies to all those who are still waiting on replies to PMs - now that I'm back home, I shall endeavour to get back to you all as soon as I can.

It's the little things. My rear seats were never quite in line where they meet horizontally, which has been a minor irritation to my OCD when looking in the rear view mirror.

Of course, Tom had all the seats out for the BOSE retrofit and set them straight when refitting. Of course, he never mentioned it, but this is an example of what Tom brings. The big things you know you'll get. It's the little things that you notice after a few days. Wonder what else the great man has left for me to discover . .

Ah yes! I remember finding that the latching mechanism of one of your rear seats was locked in the wrong position, meaning it wouldn't latch to the car's floor properly. I just fixed it and then moved on with what I had been doing. By the time I'd finished your Bose and MFSW upgrades, I'd forgotten all about it. Of course, I didn't know that you were aware that there was anything wrong, but I'm pleased you noticed and that your inner perfectionist is now at peace. :)

And got a guided tour around the fantastic garden at Tom's parents' house.

Indeed. At this time of year, my dad's garden is a fine thing to behold. He's quite the horticulturalist.

CC is 1000% the must have upgrade on the A2, I'm a CC addict, there is no known cure :)
Awwww! Stop it! I missed Tom’s cc fitting in Glasgow by about an hour yesterday and it’s still raw!

Cruise control is the answer. I'm also a hardened addict who sets cruise at every opportunity. Driving any vehicle without cruise control is a major First World Problem.

Pinky, it's a shame our paths didn't cross. It would've been nice to see you again and to finally admit your A2 into 'club cruise'. Another opportunity will present itself, no doubt.

Kind regards to all,

Tom

Today I... had a visit from the legend that is Timmus to add alumber support loom. On top of that he fixed my airbag warning light and found a popper to replace a missing one from my front drivers mat.

Hope you have a nice afternoon tomorrow and remember where your home is!

Cheers
Tom

Last week Tom kitted Vera out with rear electric windows, Bose, a false boot floor, Front fog lights, komfortblinker, updated the cruise stalk, fitted an ADRM loom, repaired the glove box light and fixed the climate control unit which was not sitting flush in the double din (the last two being free of charge).

I would like to say a big thankyou to him for all his efforts and to A2Steve and Sarge for supplying the parts..... I am very pleased with the results !.

Cheers

Dave :)

… Finally managed to fit Cruise to Project X, and I put the finishing touches to the Bum Warmers for the coming cool period ;)

Visited Tom yesterday to get my annoying lock cycling/ Micro switches / Door lock problems sorted. He did a fantastic job, and also fixed a faulty key and replaced the failing radio. Brilliant, friendly service from a true expert. :)

Thanks again Tom.

Cheers,

Steve
I need Tom to look at our A2 for this fault. Rear door lock cycles and doesn't register as open on the DIS. Passenger front door doesn't unlock after auto closure has been on and the same door auto locks itself after a short time. :/

Certainly sounds very like the problems I was having. The solder joints on the lock micro switches had failed, giving me all sorts of intermittent faults, with the system not recognising when the drivers side doors were open, and the fuel flap not opening as a result. Every time I started the car all the locks would cycle as well.

I'm sure Tom (timmus) would be able to fix it for you.

Thank you kindly for the positive feedback, to use eBay parlance. :)

Hiya Keith,

Yeah, this sounds like the same issue that I've just fixed. I've been doing a lot of these recently.
The list for your A2 is growing. If I remember correctly, you're also in need of some stereo diagnostics and a Colour DIS software update. Lots of new features for you! Alas, having been away in Central Europe for a few months (playing with A2s and climbing mountains), Jessica has grounded me in the North West until she recovers from acute loneliness. As such, for a short while, my services are available only by visiting me. :)

Cheers,

Tom
