tom tom

had tom tom for a while and always fannied about putting on the windscreen - which feels a hundred miles away. my wife watched me the other day struggling and simply reached over, took hold of the tom with its circular sucky bit and put it in the top left extending cup holder. it works a treat, is nearer to the power source and reduces windscreen bad back.

The tom tom also fits on the front drivers quarter light window and it is easier to access the controls than when fitted to the windscreen.

I have a navman 520 and will do some modification to have it actually sliding in and out of the cupholder

I just shove mine loose in the box thing in front on the gear lever, works great for me. Used to have it on the quarter light but the angle seemed wrong for the bracket and it would vibrate down on the swivel, also the sun made it hard to read.

i have my tom tom up next to the mirror works a treat. wired lead in so its tidy
Mirror is a good place, quarter light isn't - too many thieves look there first and it's so easy to smash and grab.

At least there's the sunshade to disguise the mirror position.

I agree that the quarter light would offer the opportunist thief too much temptation.

Personally I fit it when I travel and remove the tom tom and the mount when I leave the vehicle. (Leaving the mount in view could lead to Mr Thieving **** thinking the SAT Nav is in the glove box and result in damage to the glass at the very least).

My tom tom has a bracket that attaches to the air vents. It works great and its hard to notice, when the tom tom aint attached.

you should have got it in the box. i had the air vent bit and the sticky bit in the box when i got mine. if you dont have one look on ebay there usaully on there for a couple of quid
