Tools for door removal

Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me what tools are required to remove the front and rear doors? (The whole door, not just the trim.)
Thanks in advance.

It's so easy that even I can do it :) From memory, you need an M10 spline key in a bit holder on a medium extension for the two hinge joints, and that's it. Oh, and possibly a flat screwdriver to slide the locking tabs across to meet the white marks on the A/B-pillar connectors, so that you can release the plugs for the door wiring from them. The little tangs on the plugs to depress to release them can be a bit hard to find though.

My drivers door needs doing, but its lasted 16 years so I know its not going to fall off, just haven`t got the time or patience to do it.

If anyone fancies the task let me know on; 07784912888...…...

Forgot about the door checkstraps  Two options: one is a hammer and a round drive to knock out the pin (downwards) at the pillar end and take the checkstrap off with the door. Otherwise you need to take the doorcard off.

In the doorcard there are three Torx 20 screws, two under the armrest, one under the tweeter grille (that prises out with a small screwdriver). Pull the doorcard off its (stiff) fasteners starting from the hole you'll find in the bottom edge. Be careful at the top not to yank it as the tweeter will be clipped in and connected with not much slack, and can be damaged. It's easiest to leave it connected and unclip it from the doorcard, then later you can disconnect it and replace in the doorcard for refitting. Unplug the doorcard connector from the door controller, unhook the locking rod from the back of the handle. Then there are two 10mm bolts to remove the checkstrap from the door.

Perfect, thanks! I think my toolbox is lacking an M10 spline key so good to know I'll need to obtain one before I start!
Are the checkstrap bolts standard hex heads?

Halfords Laser spline key set is your friend :) Little box for about £12. Yes, normal hex checkstrap bolts, an addendum posted above.

and 10% off that from complete savings... o.k, it's only 70p, but I'm not complaining! :) . Next up going for the same discount on the Nokian tyre set I need for my A6 off Ebay.

Your steering wheel looks a bit boring, I`ve got a 3 spoke on mine, yours would probably suit the new owner, If you hurry over to me, swap them over, I wont say anything if you don't...………...xxx

Ha! That one has now been replaced by a MFSW, I did say in a post at the time I probably ought to update my avatar too! My other one does have the 3-spoke wheel.
