Just how do you top up our cars with water.

Mine doesn't appear to need any but I was curious. When standing for a while the air con drips loads of water, how does the system get topped up..

As I understand it the two issues are separate......apologies if I am wrong.

The radiator water is topped-up by removing the bonnet. The water expansion tank is clearly found then.

The water you are seeing from the air-con system is purely condensation and not water leaking as such. This is quite natural and you’ve nothing to worry about.

By loads of water do you mean actually mean a small puddle of water or is it really loads? You may just have another kind of leak if that is the case.

Yes, this really got me worried first time I saw it. There was about half a cupful of water, just trickling from under the bonnet. Soon found out what it was when my neigbour saw it, but it really had me going for a while[21]

Oh yes! It happened to me in a hire car in the middle of Texas. In temperatures 40C+ the water was cascading from underneath. It took me a while to work out what was happening.

Will, you are indeed correct. The water seen dribbling from under the car is typically condensation from the air con system - nothing to worry about, and quite normal. "They all do that Sir"!!!
