Gang.. I'm sure that someone already knows this but it has made my life complete! (sad life I lead yes!)

There are times when you might just want to leave the drivers windwo open when out for a drive. Yes I know it has climate control but sometimes is nice to have the freash air flowing thru your hair!..lol

Anyway, I have a real niggle with the design of the window on my A2. Lower the window and it sounds like you are strapped to the front of concorde on take off. Not nice! Anyway, this will be applicable to all who have all round electric windows. Lower the near side rear passenger window..... and the turbulance goes!... EXCELLENT! (All I have to do now is get the £2500 worth of damage sorted to my A2 after a tractor drove down the side of it!)...... AAARGHHHHHHH!

Sorry to hear about Mr Giles inability to control his machinery

Oh dear!!! A2's really are having a bad time of it.

When we get our new one, we'll give that a go with the windows.

A2's don't make very good sledges:(

I do said same thing to the passenger window when I have the open sky open and that makes the same buffeting noise (but only in certain wind conditions)... BTW has anyone ever pressed the wind defletor down at speed with the roof open? When you do that you realise why it's there!

I always put it down to the A2 "air tight" capability. You could keep biscuits in the cabin for months on end.

With nowhere for the air to escape (poor panel fit etc), one open windows means it just can't get a flow through.

That's my (not) scientific view!.

That @noise' was actually painful!!!!! For comparison, the only other car that hurt my ears like this was my father's old '61 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. Must be something about quality and keeping the windows shut!

Standards, my boy, standards. You do drive an Audi automobile after all.

Window noise problems were also very evident on that aerodynamic fore-runner [20] the Ford Sierra. The same relief was evident on opening the rear window.

ye I've noticed the turbulance, it happens on nearly all cars I believe, not a design fault as such, to avoid it just open your left window just a small touch as well, and it disapears! I drove a Peugot 206 the other day, that had turbulance at 70 without any wondows open, and as you drive towards the right the door opens ever so slightly lots of turbulance and a whistle of the wind. So I suppose the design on the A2 is better. I don't like peugots much I got given one for 3 months as my A2 was beeing fixed in the garage, you might have heard about my ordeal!
