Information Tyres help please

Just introducing myself ,am a 1.4tdi se 2002 in red ,most of my life I've been very cared for and slept in a comfatable dry garage but unfortunately my new owner (all though very caring )carnt provide this for me ,
But am sure in time it could happen.in the mean time they feel I badly need new types
,but not sure which ones,at the moment am wearing Perrell 185/50/16-81-v but as they have been discontinue even through very stylish they would like to try me with continentals again the size is becoming quite confusing the 215-40-16 or 205-45-16- 83-w not sure what would fit best .if anyone could advise that would be of great help .thanks everyone
