URGENT HELP needed!!

I've got home from work and the battery is flat (due to the fan coming on). The rear doors are unlocked and I can't get into the boot to charge the battery! How do I gain entrance to the boot as it dosen't open from the outside? Could someone please email me ASAP (as we don't want people to know how to get into our boots!)
My email address is [email protected]
i'm waiting by the computer! or call me on 01474 535176
Thanks Guys, Mark

fold the back seats down. i think theres a slot on the inside of the boot you put the key to open it if the electric release fails

you have mail. there's no way to get in from the outside.

Bret - who's had his tailgate apart at least four times.

alles klar, i had it down as pulling, it's in the handbook.

However, it's a piece of 2mm plastic and it may well have detached, at which point removing a seat to charge becomes extremely attractive if you have a garage....

yes thats correct you put your key in, goes in at an angle so you can pull the sqaure bit of plastic out. Once you have this bit of plastic out you just pull the cable it attahced to and the boot will open.

Hi Mark, Alexwharton is right - the tailgate trim panel has a small plastic insert which connects via a cable to the lock mechanism. Lever up the insert and give it a good tug and it will open the lock.
Not sure if it makes it any clearer but the attached pic of the trim panel shows the cable run between the lock and the insert

Don't pull too hard, or the plastic can snap - it's happened to me!

It's very tricky to pull on the tab and shove the tailgate up yourself, so get someone else on the outside to help.

Cheers,

Mike
