The new stretch of A14 south of Huntingdon opened over 12 months ago. The latest update from VW is Nov 2020 but still does not have this stretch on the maps. Does anyone know if their is a different source for the update?

Map CDs are at least a year behind, even when they are released maybe more.
That's where apps like Waze and Google Maps score, as they are continuously updated online, and show real time traffic, RTAs, road closures etc.

One of the reasons I went and bought a new nav man . Only been back in the country a few weeks after 11 years abroad .. and everything has changed . At least with the nav I can up update it every few months and keep on top of what has improved road wise

More changed than improved, sadly.

lol - Our house was built 17 years ago, but according to all SatNavs, and even Google Maps it doesn't exist ...

Morning,

If you’re using a RNS-E PU then you could try the latest firmware from:

rnse.pcbbc.co.uk

If you opt for the paid for extra features (which are utterly amazing) then you will be provided a full access code for (which enables Maps on SD Card):

NavPOInt

I don’t have any experience using this software (yet) but understand that you can add new postcodes, additional speed/safety camera location and other things. There may well be an option to ‘draw’ your own road which the RNS-E navigation system will use for the route/road tour missing.

It’s certainly worth asking Stuart via the Contact Us button on either of the 2 above links to see what is possible.

I do know he is working on alternative options for up to date supported maps but that is work in progress. Give him a shout as there might be a simple answer.

Kind regards,

Tom

Thanks Tom.
The issue I have is on a 2019 golf with the ‘discover media navigation’ system
will look into your suggestions

Afternoon Geoff,

I just reread your initial post and yes you mention VW. Apologies as I’m not sure what I brought to the party in Post #10 will be of any use to you.

Me and my tiny brain just assumed you meant you have RNS-E Nav issues without correctly understanding what I was reading.

Sorry I’m unable to help this time round sir.

Have you ask the same question about aftermarket Map sources on a specific VW forum.
Kind regards,

Tom
