Vandalism

Got back to my A2 this evening to discover that someone had forced open the service flap & attempted to remove the oil filler. They didn't succeed, but very concerned at why they wanted to do that.

The only niggle is that I put some oil in last night, and I may not have closed it properly. I'm sure the lights flashed when I locked it, though.

Needless to say I shall be parking in a higher footfall area tomorrow & having words with the management.

That is awful. However I'd be sure that you didn't leave it open first (I'm not saying you did but stupidity is far easier to swallow than targeted vandalism)

My story,

I was in Portsmouth on a summer break after buying a new A6 Avant in 2007, it was very special to me as my first new car. It was three weeks old.

I left it at a cinema one evening and after coming back to it I saw it had been keyed from the front to the back. To say I was annoyed was an understatement. I was raging that someone had done that. I'm not rich and I had to save up for years to afford it and at 3 weeks old it was targeted.

After some thinking I realised that I'd been driving down some very narrow country lanes in Devon on the way there and it was far more likely that I had caught a thorn at speed and done the damage myself. Hence me saying stupidity is easier to swallow, my own fault, which still left me bitter but only with my own carelessness than with humankind.

Hope that helps a bit. But better safe than sorry.

Regards

James
