Afternoon,
I have not used my Audi a2 tdi for the last two weeks when I recently started up noticed vibration noise coming from the engine bay between 1100-1500 revs.. Anyone had this symptom before?

help appreciated ?

Hi Josh,

Very difficult to provide a guess with such little to go on.

What are the conditions the car is parked;
Is it garaged on level ground or on a hill pointing downwards under a tree?
Has there been any recent work done on the car?
What do you notice when removing the bonnet - can you see or hear anything?
Is the "noise" present always now?
Is the car regularly maintained by a professional, or just MOT'd and work done when pointed out?

Pictures can also be useful

etc, etc.....

Cheers
Jeff

Both of my Tdis do that after starting up, although once fully warm they idle around 900-950rpm.

I have a vibration noise coming from the engine bay when travelling at slow speed in a low gear. I've been trying to find the reason why for 18 months and checked all the usual problem areas...even changed the alternator at one point without much success. Marcus at WOM has heard this noise and confirmed it is an issue on a few Tdi,s but he hasn't worked out what it is yet.

I had exactly the same - "vibration noise coming from the engine bay between 1100-1500 revs ".
Could not locate it for long time.
Whent to Stealth Racing and they have found a problem.
It was a noise insulatio on the fuel line 8Z0130308G.

I also have vibration up to around 1700. Particularly when pulling up a hill. Hopefully special edition can confirm if he finds an issue and put a picture up of what insulation on the fuel line is.

Thank you for help! I shall look into to fuel lines. Although the noise seems to be coming from one of alternator pulley/ tensioner I’ve also noticed the belt seems to be abit loose maybe causing the vibration!
Regards
