Viewed a TDI 75 - A Few Questions

Hey guys,
Just been to view a tdi 75 and just have a few questions.

I have recently been driving a A1 2.0tdi and a Mini Cooper, so have been a bit spoiled for power and a very nice new drive. The A2 seemed a bit lacking in power and there was no turbo kick in feel from it at all? There were no warning lights on the dash, gearbox was fine and the car revved fine with no smoke or misfires.

The A2 also drove with a bit of a loose feeling, a bit bouncy around corners and a slight wobble on the steering wheel? It did not feel nice and tight to drive, but im not sure if it is me being spoilt with driving brand new cars and going back into a 12 year old A2?

I have owned an A2 before and from my distant memory, it was a nippy little car and this just didn't have that little bit of poke that i am sure i remembered it for.

The car has a brand new MOT and only one advisory.

What do you guys think? Theres no faults in the dash, no warning lights just a lack of turbo kick imo.

I did wonder about the lack of oomph of a Tdi75 when I test drove one also. Compared to the 1.8T Beetle it seemed to be a bit lacking, but then 150ps compared to 75 is quite a difference. The mini and A1 are also quite a step in power. I also found that I was a bit reluctant to give the car proper beans as I was unfamiliar with it. The TDi90 we eventually bought does seem to have a bit more go, but still you can't really compare such massive power to relatively lowly 75ps I think.

If you have doubts, one thing I have learned in my relatively short time and lots of questions. Get the codes read. A turbo failure would be obvious wouldn't it?

I delegate any proper info giving to the experts here.

Dont forget it is a 3 pot fairly low tech engine designed for maximum MPG. It shoulnd feel uber slow, but wont feel quick either.

Thanks. Yes, i have only owned and driven tdi90's and 1.6 FSI's.

The A1 was 143ps and Cooper is 120ps i think.

I do remember my 90's being pretty swift though.
