VW's transparent factory in Dresden

Short video by Fully Charged Plus on VW's so called transparent factory in Dresden This is a small factory to test new production techniques. They only make ID3s and customers can visit and help to assemble their own car - bit of a marketing gimmick, just a few bits of trim!

I still think the A2s manufacturing was quite advanced. This 2009 video is my favourite A2 video

VW Dresden only produces about 35 ID3s per day compared with VW Zwickau's 1250 (which includes ID4/5, Audi Q4 e-trons, Cupra Born and Bentley/Lamborghini bodies). Dresden seems to be an assembly plant only; I would assume that they have plans to increase production.

At the moment you can only order one variant in the UK - the Life Pro Performance 58kwh. This is to streamline production because of chip shortages. Just as well that I didn't delay to buy a 77kwh Tour this year, as originally planned!
