Hi Nathan and welcome - we will do our best !. There are the odd one or two of us that monitor ebay, autotrader and gumtree for A2,s on a daily basis. We can generally sniff out the wheat from the chaff !. The "Tdi spotted" thread occasionally throws up really nice examples but they are becoming few and far between.

Members cars occasionally come up for sale and in general they are the ones to buy (trying to remain impartial) - the majority being looked after, well specced and maintained.

This is the time of year to buy an A2 as prices have fallen in general with all used cars. However, the good ones that do come up tend to sell quickly !.

If you do spot something that you like we may have a member close by to check it for you - best option !.

Try looking at ownership and service history first - mileage is not much of an issue if its been properly looked after. Bodywork and interiors tell you a lot about the cars. !

I would be patient for the right car - it took me around seven months to find mine but it was worth it.

Hi and welcome.

Sinfield Cars have the occasional top spec A2 for sale, they are at the top end price-wise but you get what you pay for.

One example is
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Audi...922369?hash=item33af275441:g:fxsAAOSwSHZWhGDE

They have others and they always seem to be very well specced.

The owner is a member on here too.

Hi Nathan,
Welcome to the club, as Dave said its worth waiting for the right car, could you give us any more hints to go on like colour and are you particularly wedded to finding a Tdi or would you consider a FSI with the right spec/ mileage!
Cheers Jeff

Hi guys thanks for your quick replies

Am not too fussed on colour ideally I'd like full leather and pano roof and no more then 110k as I have a 100 mile a day commute not that I will be using the A2 everyday but a TDI would be my first choice as for spec a sport would be great but I am not dead set on that :)

welcome,

dont be put off by a high spec a2 with more than 110k.....i bought mine with 189,000 on the clock and is now showing 201,000 :) as long as it has a good history and looked after then there is nothing to worry about. a2's IMO will have a better longevity than the petrol a2 and other (newer) cars. you will not be disappointed!

mines is a tdi as per signature and personally i wouldnt touch a petrol as there seems to be cough! cough! more problems compared with the tdi (waiting for the trolls now!)...i know, i know.....im being biased lol

There's no trolls on A2OC Cameron. It's all very well behaved with 2 exceptions and they are both Scottish :p

Been tempted with a 1.6 FSI! are they any good?

I am definitely biased towards a tdi for many reasons, but a well sorted FSI is a flying machine.

Silky smooth engine, likes to rev and still gives decent performance.

The common issues are well known and lots of discussions on here about them, but owning an FSI does not mean unreliability or major maintenance bills.

That is quite a compliment to the FSI since as I said, I am a huge tdi fan.

Conrad or Mike ( FSI guru's) said to expect an £1000 bill every 100k replacing coil packs sensors and other items to keep an FSI tip top. They aren't as reliable as TDI but owners rate them. Cheaper to buy too.

The TDI 90 won't be far off that money input either because of the dual mass flywheel. .

There is a possibility that my 1.4 SE petrol will become available soon. My wife has a knee problem and wantS an auto.
It's at A2 cars ATM being serviced.Cobalt blue, twist interior. 80,000 ish comfort leather, Bose, working OSS, DIS, double DIN, rear park.
