Hello again,

Please forgive me if Im covering old ground (I have checked the threads but nothing came up).

Looking forward to getting my A2 soon (if only I can find the one I want!), but after having so many issues with Audi Dealerships and servicing/repair on my TT Im keen to know your experiences/advice for A2 sevicing.

Approved Audi Warranty or Independant, Dealership or approved service/repair centre?

All comments gratefully received.

Cheers,

:)

Chris.

Try again . . .

Oops, wrong section . . . if a moderator can move this to the 'servicing repairs and assistance' forum I'd be grateful, thanks.

Okay, how about this, what is the most comprehensive warranty VAG or other? Also, I have seen posts mentioning VW warranties, I know its all one big happy company, but can this really be done - is this approved/valid etc etc, I suppose thinking about it there ought to be no real difference, however Id much prefer to give me custom to my local VW dealer than the Audi one!

My car came from main dealer, discount of about 12% off of screen price made it a resonable purchase, so it comes with audi approved warrenty which I wanted - funnily enough because of issues with previous VAG brand cars.

My A2 is my 49th car and to be honest th emost grief I have had has been with VAG cars, and the grief doubles if you need to get VW uk involved.

My servicing is all carried out at a good indi in Milton Keynes, very good service and very cheap - also all are ex main dealer techs disillusioned by rip off prices and poor service levels.

hmmm

wow, that seems like a match made in heaven, an Audi Warranty serviced and repaired by non-dealership workshop trained in VAGness . . . is this the way forward, does anyone else do similar?

Really wanted to get my A2 from a dealer for the peace of mind and simplicity of it all, but the sods wont call me back or return my emails - probably cause Im not buying a new car . . . so looks like Im going private . . .

. . . is it possible to buy an approved audi warranty if you havent sourced/bought your car from a main dealer?

I would think that is possible so long as you meet all the terms of the warranty but it wil cost you around £600 well that was last years price may have gone up since then

I bought my A2 privately when it was still under Audi warranty. I have recently passed 60k miles and am no longer covered by the warranty.

I bought an Audi approved three year warranty from my local dealer for £700.
It was £250 for 1 year, £500 for 2 and £700 for 3.
I had to pay £97 for a warranty inspection, so they could see if it had any faults thereby going ahead (or not) with the warranty.

Suggest you go to your local dealer and ask, I'm sure they'll do something, not known to turn down money!

Very true, . . . sorry did you say that you bought your 3 year warranty when your a2 was out of warranty?

good deal methinks . . .

Im confused though and please bear with me here, crb1011 - you say expect to pay around £600, but then glock17 seem to have a different experience?

I suppose it will depend on your cars age/spec etc, but this seems a big difference?

Im going to try to pin down someone at my local audi place and get some info/prices - will also try my local vw dealer for comparisson.

;)

When I went in to my local Audi dealership that was what I was quoted £600 for one year sounds like the cost of warranties from Audi dealerships varries quite a lot. Sounds like glock17 got a great deal.
glock17 is the warranty a full all components warranty with no limit of costs etc. The warranties I looked at for that sort of price limited the claim to £1000 and didnt cover all parts such as sensors and motors (electrical)
