Water dripping under the car

Hi guys and girls,

I have water dripping out underneath the car.

It seems to be leaking, centrally, just forward of the gearstick. I can see no puncture in the under tray and just seems to be dripping around an opening.

I tasted the fluid leaking (i'm still alive!) and it tasted like water!
It was cold and i had just done a journey of a few miles

There have been no warning lights come on, on the DIS.

I have noticed water leaking before but it has always stopped.

I'm not sure why its leaking... it has been particularly hot today so i'm not sure if it might have expanded with the heat and overflowed.

Any help in identifing what is leaking and why would be a great help!

Many thanks in anticipation

Panic not!

All you're seeing is the condensation from the climate control system, dripping down onto the ground.

You have nothing to worry about!

Cheers,

It's a relief to hear,

Remembering on the journey, the inside of the windscreen was misting up... also quite glad because i did taste it...!

A friend of mine saw this on their Ford Focus once whilst stopped at a motorway services, thought their car had sprung a leak and called out the AA. Sure enough, the AA man was very quick to diagnose it as the Air-con condensation draining out. Totally normal - all the moisture the Air-con pulls out of the cabin air has to go somewhere...

So thinking about it...

It's like a condenser tumble drier. It collects the water in the drawer and you then empty it at the end.
