Water in taillight causing yaw rate sensor error

Good day all I have a wiring question maybe . I have an early 75tdi with the early yaw rate sensor . I have had an ongoing issue with the yaw rate sensor reading the car is beyond 90 degrees every now and again in bad weather. I changed this sensor Last year which read the same.
It started again yesterday in the rain I've changed the rear tail light as it was cracked and full of water which was causing the light cluster to ground out.
Thanks tom @2work for the lamp.
Long story short it has cured the yaw rate sensor malfunction reading.
How are the two connected ?
I know on my mk 4 golf if water got into the headlamps the voltage drop caused the alarm and emo to malfunction.
Is this the same for the lights on the a2 ?
Would the cure for these failing yaw rate sensors be linked to a short to earth on other people early a2 .

Afternoon Kraig,

Unable to provide any guidance or information regards your question but very happy to read that the replacement rear light solved the fault.

Kind regards,

Tom
