Water pump/Coolant

It's cambelt change time again and I normally get new water pump at same time. last time i replaced original with metal impellor version. This time new Audi part seems to have plastic impellor.

Will change the belt myself but wondering about coolant:

Q's:


1. What is quantity (water plus G12 red stuff) required?
2. How do you charge system without VAG pressure kit?
3. Are rad hose clips difficult to take off with normal pliers or do i need VAG tool?

i bought 2 litres of g12 coolant and mixed it to the required ratio with RO water in an empty 2 litre pop bottle filled and repeated until the expansion tank was on the min mark.

To charge the system i left the expansion tank cap off and let the car idle with the heater set to maximum until the engine is up to operating temperature, topping up as required.

You dont need any pliers IIRC, just slide the retaining pin off of the hose where it joins the radiator and have a bin liner (or bucket if you can get one under the car) ready to catch the coolant.
