Webasto Aux Water Heater

The unit is kicking in around 8 degrees but it always used to be at 5 degree when the snowflake showed.

Does it work from a different temp sensor to the outside temp display?

Webasto supplementary heater

Hi Shezlee,

I found the answer on page 124 of the owner's manual, which advises that -

At outside temperatures below about +5C the supplementary heater is switched on and off automatically when the engine is running, according to the coolant temperature.

So I think the answer is that both the outside temperature and the coolant temperature determine when the supplementary heater operates.

Hope this helps,

John.

Thank you

So in theory the coolant temp could be lower than the temp displayed on the dash and that is why its switching on?

Mine comes on at about 8 degrees.
By 4 degrees it is cutting in and out during the journey depending upon the cabin temp.
