Webasto Remote Heater

Didn't read the whole thread.
If your A2 has the error code 01411 - Temperature Sensor (G18) then the temperature sensor in the Webasto Thermotop C is defective. According to Webasto the solution is to buy a complete new unit... for hundreds for euros. But the sensor cost pennies and a replacement can be soldered in by a novice. I found this wonderful guide in german: https://a2-freun.de/forum/forums/topic/31687-a2-14-tdi-zuheizer-temperaturfühler-g18-defekt-rep-anleitung/

EDIT: You would need to create an account.

Sorry I must be dim, looking at the link I can't see the repair itself or where the sensor can be purchased?
This is a great find thou!

Use google chrome and let it translate german to english for you. There is a pdf-link there with a work description (although in german), and a part number that you can feed into google :)

The only link I can see is in Amuself comment (top one) but it shows as unavailable maybe it's my phone will try on a laptop that said my webasto is currently working so more trying to educate myself

The pdf is unavailable to me too.
The YouTube vid works though.
Mac.

Oh no it doesn't work. This is what happens when you resurrect old threads. It is beyond annoying. IF you must resurrect then at least put a new link as often the old ones are long since broken.

This is what happens? No what happened is that I struck gold in an old german thread and I kindly shared it here. Don't you think I tested the link before sharing??? I downloaded the pdf yesterday. And I tried it again when people reported problems here. Still worked here then. Chrome on Win10.

Well there are several here telling you it does not work. If it works for you then why not be helpful and post the actual file?

Maybe you have to be a member of the German site in order to access posted documents?

Testing this theory, @hdlo are you a member of the German forum? Or maybe it's an IP-based thing?

If you could upload the PDF to this thread, that would be much appreciated by those who get the 'Not Available' screen. Many thanks :)

You know, you should really be able to deduce that if a website seem to restrict your access to it, perhaps you don't have access rights. What can you do to possibly elevate your access rights? Create an account. This is basic troubleshooting like if the car won't start, perhaps you should start with putting a key in the ignition. :p It turns out I was automatically logged in on one of my computers.

I'm not in Germany myself. Just create an account and I'm sure it will work nicely for you too. I would have shared the pdf here already if it was mine to share. (Although in the original post I didn't realize you'd have to be logged in to download the pdf file attachment.)

Main gist is snip off this white thermistor sensor:
J162 board.jpg

and solder in a new one - it's a Heißleiter 12K, 3760K, 4,0 mW/K, B57881S0123F000
On my to do list now I know the spec of the component - good spot.

Did the replacement of the thermistor solve the problem please? Be good to know as my webasto shows same fault, reading 125C in VCDS. SO assume its same issue. Cheers.
