Well just got new a2 tdi up together ..?

Sorry, no idea what they're called, though I do know they're light. I'll get round to weighing one when I get a chance to take one off the FSI. Curious to know how they compare with the pepperpots.
I do like the ride on 15s (I'm currently on 185/60R15 winters, wife's running 175/65R15 winters though prefers the look of her sport 9 spokes wearing 205/45R17 which does help the ride noticeably vs the oem 205 40s) though my preferred ride is A1 10 spokes with 215/45R16.

They look like item 1 in the following 7zap -

interesting to note the subsidiary part option for the same code in "burnished aluminium" finish - presumably they would be pretty shiny.

ps. ignore the "balancer weight" annotation above - it is the 15/16" wheels option diagram.

I believe they are all burnished, any that are painted will have been refurbished and painted to avoid the dreaded alloy corrosion that shows-up as white trails on the surface, presumably under the clear lacquer.

It would be handy to have a comparison of each wheel weight, minus tyres and valves, at a guess I'd say that the A2 lightweight and A3 lightweight wheels ('pepperpots') are nigh-on identical.

I'm not sure what they are called, but they have an almost chrome finished from new, I have had a couple of A2's that came with them, both sets have been refurbished and now sold on, I did weigh one as they are VERY light. Can't recall the actual weight but was 800g heavier than a pepper pot. Both where weighed with tyres on, so some of that difference could be in the tyre as they where different makes
I only sold them as I got a set of 15" A1 alloys for a bargain price and really like the look of them

err actual no, but I will take some pics tomorrow and post here. They are no as light as the ones being discussed above, but still a LOT lighter than the 17" 9 spoke alloys I have had on, they were bloody heavy

I'm fairly certain that painted finish is factory.

I concur, the 9 spokes weigh a 'ton'.

they are originally clear lacquered over what I can best describe as a chromed layer. when I've refurbished the wheels the chrome finish was quite hard to remove with a dremmel, the aluminium under it was fairly soft in comparison

I'm married so used to being wrong ;) though I've seen so many of these painted I assumed it was a factory option.

Look here; https://www.original-felgen.com

Click on the rim you want to see, and it will show you the weight of it.
A2 rims are displayed too, but you have search a little bit on it....

I’m just going to get them bead blasted and powder coated ..chap I bought from is meeting me with them nr Bristol gordano services on the 8th march as he lives on east coast but is off to wales saves me long trip ..I wasn’t sure about them to start with but they've grown on me ..looks like they are 2.5 kilo less each than the standard 16” se wheels that’s a lot

That’s exactly what they look like ..same .....whereas the ones on my silver a2 are the more subtle grey/silver

I have fitted these all weather Nokian Tyres 185 60 15 little more road noise through the alloy shell ..we do have quite a bit of standing water at times here on the levels and these tyres had good wet reputation as well as best rolling resistance and winter well being a Nordic manufacturer superb they say 20k + life on the light a2 should hopefully exceed this ..wanted a good all round tyre for Sally’s car ..Will see how these feel over next month and may do same for mine...

Nokian Weatherproof, they look good and will probably be better, and noisier, than the MIchelin CrossClimate tyres which are excellent all-season tyres.
How do they compare on price?

The Nokian are 73 decibel & cross climate are 72 ....but the rolling resistance was best in test on the Nokian over 8 other tyres a figure of 7 where as the cross climate 8.8 ..there’s for and against on all the all season tyres I liked the look of the Nokian also ?
4 Nokian £278 ..
