Wet battery ?

HI everyone,
This is my 1st time on the forum ,so if i make any mistakes please make allowences. I have just purchased an 02 a2 for my wife, (might not let her have it yet) i'm very impressed with it. I have noticed that on top of the battery is wet with condensation, i have dried it of but it returns slowly over a couple of days, its definatley condensation as it sits just on top of the battery only. I just wondered if this is common to the a2, any ideas, anyone?

Same problem with mine, if you do a search for water in the boot there are a few posts on this. Basicaly there is gromit behind the bumper that can let in water. I usualy just wedge something under the flap to let the condensation dry out!!!
 
I had the same problem, but found 2 inches of water sloshing around in the boot! Had it sorted under warranty but took a while to pin point where it was coming in. Audi had the car for 3 weeks off and on and replaced the gromit and air vent behind the bumper and a rubber seal on the hatch. Seems to be ok now. I think this an under reported problem.

Thanks for your help,i'll check for this grommet if i can locate it! Sounds like i'm not alone with this problem.
 
Hi Steve
The attached link relates to fitting a towbar but there are some great shots of what's behind the rear bumper. In particular, check out the Crossmember Side View. Maybe someone could confirm it's the right one but it shows a large grommet, just below the boot vent grille.
