Thought I’d create this thread as it’s interesting to see what are the does and don’t in your A2

In my A2’s there are

No dogs or Pets aloud

No food to be eaten in the car

No dirty shoes

No bikes or anything large in the back

No oil unless sealed in tub

My does are

Clean 1/2 times a week

Once a month clean the interior

Strip any polish and wax etc of the body and reapply new polish and wax (every 7 months)

Make sure it has a full major service every 3000 miles

What are your does and don’t In your A2 ? :)

Not allowed..
Smoking
Back seat drivers
Monday morning quarter backs
Glitter
Animals
Dodgy car mechanics
Quick Fit
Anything to do with babies.

Luckily now at that stage where babies, glitter and animals don't feature in our lives. All I've put my foot down about so far is no chocolate in the one with cloth seats. Don't mind in the one with leather as long as I've got my knackered floor mats down over the mint ones :) As they were all the way round Scotland :D

In terms of cleaning, I try to drive them both and my Volvo for a week in turn, so they get a wash on their weekend. Polished the Cobalt one for Stanford Hall, will be polishing the Crystal one for Kimbolton.

Oh, to have that amount of free time! My A2 has been cleaned twice this year ...once by @Darren C and once by an army of people (myself included) at Fort William Fire Station, courtesy of @murdo.

Things that aren't allowed in my A2...
Anything that could damage the soft-touch coating. That is No.1 consideration when any person or any object enters my A2. Dirt can be cleaned, but gouges to the soft-touch coating genuinely ruin something. Nothing with sharp edges is allowed in the centre tunnel storage areas. Whenever my sister/mum/girlfriend gets in the car with her handbag, the handbag is not allowed to touch the centre tunnel area or the glovebox. If those chunky buckles scratch the soft-touch coating, there'll be trouble! My A2 might be my travelling living room, and it's not always the cleanest of things, but I assure you it's pristine beneath the dust. :)

Glitter, sand, babies, chocolate, milk, nuts and crumbly bars are my life, so I have an a2 to do this work, to be honest I haven’t cleaned the interior for a while I this one and it doesn’t show too badly

Don’t worry Tom when you visit me I’ll give your A2 a mini vallet :)

Anarchy rules,absolutely anything goes.
I sold my beautiful low mileage tdi with the bose and leather/alcantara sports seats as I did not want to subject it to the house renovations and ruin a truly lovely car.
Got a high mileage, very tired tdi as a replacement and it has coped with the dog, building rubble to the dump, picking up building materials, taking the jungle that was the back garden to the recycling, carrying stone for the dry stone wall etc etc etc.
Had to spend a bit getting all of the past MoT advisories carried out but it is doing me proud.
Not sure how it will scrub up at the end though.

It is surprising with rear seats out what will go in the little a2 over the years it’s surprised so many people ..we have one a2 for best and the other although another mint low miler we have removed rear seats and installed a large dog crate ..under which is the genuine Audi full load liner ..Perfect ??..

I like to think my A2 is in presentable all round condition. Never a concours or show car. Its a competent and presentable daily driver that defies its 15 year pedigree pretty well.

My only stipulation in any car is no smoking.
There's been babies puking (and other things), food and drink consumed, sofas mattresses and wardrobes moved, trips to the recycling centre, building materials from the DIY stores and more besides.
For me it's more about taking care and caution when the car is in van mode and encouraging the kids to take care with their goodies in the back.
That together with leather upholstery and a judicious cleaning regime - and its possible in my view and experience to keep a motor in good shape despite all the above.

How some motors you see get into the states of disrepair and filthy interior condition can only be down to health, lifestyle choices, lack of care and attention and I'm sure on some occasion sheer laziness.

As to mother in laws - I have a cracker. She's a lovely lady although I'll admit to the occasinal spirited drive when shes in the car after remarks about its crashy ride ????

Just been to st Ives beach, just found another thing that's not welcome in the motor.......Half a ton of sand.ha
My grand mother bless her lived in carbis bay part of st ives I’ve got some wonderful memories of that place it was a quieter place in the late 60s ...
