What an idiot I am!

I have an unwanted right rear manual window unit if that's of any interest. Free if you collect.

Yes, not a good idea to have only one key!

Guess it would be possible to connect the battery by jacking the car up, removing the bottom engine cover and from there get access to the +12V pole on the starter?

Then fetch the keys or push the button by a wire?

Has all doors been tried? Very often the door locks are not all working, so one or more doors are left open even if being locked.

IMO, call out a locksmith , I’ve done the same, usually with you within the hour, and takes about a minute to open the drivers door, the cost isn’t cheap but it’s cheaper than breakages.
AND THEN , IF YOUVE ONLY GOT ONE KEY GET A EXTRA BLADE CUT.

Don't forget, this area of the forum is visible to the public and the search-engine crawlers. Might be worth a second thought before posting suggestions on how to break into a locked A2. Nothing wrong with being helpful, but sometimes doing it via PM might be the better medium.

Sorted. Sorry.

If anyone knows any tricks I would be grateful of a PM to keep incase of emergency!!

Cheers

OK.
I see I'm not the only one who manages to lock his stuff in the car.
At least it's releaving. :D
One question for the variety.
Where is the door-open sensor?
Mine isn't working on front-right door and if I want to just take something out of the car or put something there (i usually use the passenger seat for small luggage), I always have to pay stressful attention to not leave the key on the seat because the central reingages even with that door open.

For the question about how the guy got his car locked after disconnecting the battery. The boot closes in every manner because it is not lockable. The boot is opened by a microswitch which is not operational without power or when central is on.
So if you want to intentionally lock your key in the car though everything works as intended, go for the boot. Don't forget to kill the battery. :D

It's one of the microswitches in the door lock mech. Often there's a bad solder joint because they didn't use leaded solder in manufacturing. But that's not the only mode of failure. There will be more detailed info about it on here.
