What colour is my interior?

Ian help as I’m getting confused now, I think I have a Jive interior.

Project OEM has Twist leather seats and Twist roof furniture along with headlining. It has Swing leather steering wheel, gear knob/gaiter and handbrake levee. It also has a 2 tone dashboard, top half the biscuit colour you mention and the bottom half is Twist. All this put together, I believe is a Jive Interior.

More than happy to be corrected as this is just what I think I have and have been told by others.

I just need assistance before I purchase the wrong coloured leather paint.

Kind regards,

Tom

Tom, I think it all boils down to this: when we refer to the colour of leather, we are talking about the leather of seats.

Twist leather is one of the elements of the interior colour scheme of blonds/beiges in your car, which is also called Twist as a whole, after the colour of the majority of elements within it.

Similarly I am 100% certain that Swing is the name of the early dark grey colour scheme only available during 1999-2001, and also of the dark grey colour of the majority of elements within that scheme. The Swing colour in leather would again be the colour of leather seats in such a car.

To the very best of my knowledge there was no colour scheme called Jive. I understand Jive to be the name of the biscuit colour used solely (in the A2 at least) for the upper dash and the touch points in the Twist interior scheme. Whatever it's called though, this is visibly not the same colour as Swing, either in leather or in plastic.

As such, while you'd definitely be looking for Swing leather paint to restore the seats in a Swing car, for the gearknob in your Twist car, I believe you need to be looking for Jive paint.

Ian,

Just for my own information, as you know I have a Jive interior but the gear knob needs a repaint.

Are you or anyone else able to confirm the colour as I thought the steering wheel, handbrake cover and gear knob/gaiter were Swing in a Jive interior.

I thought it was just the top half of the dashboard that was the biscuit colour. Will pop out to the car shortly.

Hopefully someone can give me an answer as I’m hoping to buy the leather paint and was going to get Swing but will hold off it’s an ‘abnormal’ colour as it will be more difficult to locate.

Kind regards,

Tom

For info, the parts book shows the colour options for the gear lever leather bits - https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a2/a2/2002-248/7/711-711030/

Cheers Spike

From the 2002 parts book, only standard colours listed for the gear lever trim are Jive and Soul

Red, Blue and Yellow were optional

Those same colour options are are also listed for steering wheels

Cheers

OK, as suggested I snapped a pic of the sticker above the battery. See below...
I can see a paint and interior code and a bunch of refs to what I assume are fitted options.
Do we have a guide as to what these mean?
Update: Of course we do https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/interior-trim-colour-codes.30501/

Update 2: This is what I have worked out so far...
- N7C is my seat fabric style (Matrix I believe).
- NH is the interior colour code (Light Platinum (grey) however this doesn't mean everything is that colour, for instance my dash is black. so it's more like a theme).
- All of this is very complicated.
- List of installed options code found here: http://vag-codes.info/files/options/vag-option-codes.pdf
