Does anyone know what this yellow plug attaches to? Just found it hanging!

It's a FAKRA connector, usually used for the aerial or diversity connection on the back of the radio, or even a sat nav aerial if you have RNS-D/E installed.

Have you got the diversity switcher in the boot ( the electronic gubbins behind the thing that holds a navi unit near the tools in the bottom of the boot).

If you have, then I think you've had the headunit changed at some point.

I'd have to check out your vehicle data sticker (even then, it moght not be conclusive), but as you know, Audi never fit anything not needed on the A2, bar the heated mirror wires.

The diversity circuitry was only fitted to Concert2/Symphony2 or Navigation systems, so that's how I deduce you've had the headunit changed to a Chorus2 at some point.
