What is 1.6FSI oil consumption?

This is a serious question to all you people who had an 1.6FSI much longer than me.

Since it's impossible to check the oil level with the 'always-full-magic-stick-pin', it would be good yo know what oil consumption really is.

Last week I drove down to Denmark, about 700 km journey, I noticed that the high pressure fuel pump revs harder and more noisy thn usual at warm start, after 2-300 km driven. It's about 7000 km since last oil and filter service change, so I thought some oil has been burned.

The 'always-full-magic-stick-pin' showed at least that the oil was nicely yellow :)

I took a chance and refilled 0.25 liter, just to see if it would make any difference.
And it did.

Than I took a 1000 km trip to Oslo and back home. At the warm start, the high pressure pump worked less harder and less noisy, just like it should.

Before I conclude anything from my experiment, I would like to know more about the real oil consumption and not guessing how much to refill.

Appreciate your expert advices!

I gave up checking mine because I found it impossible to read and ended up overfilling it, then had the agro of draining some out. I've heard the later dipsticks are easier to read...

I don't think I overfilled it adding 0.25 l, but you never know. The engine works like a clockwork.
The dipstick later than which year? Mine is 2003.

I recommend that you don't exceed the 7000km threshold without changing oil anyway, unless you're using specialized oils that most A2 in general don't worth the cost (except for the possibility your car being recently and expensively tuned)

Why 7000km? I believe 15000km is too frequent. But I have followed 15000km service warning. Before the last oil and filter change, the oil looked clean as new. I use fully sintetic oil, as in other cars. Oh, and yes, I spent a lot of money making this car better than it has ever been :)

Well, generally what the auto maker prescribes as safe mileage to change the oil is overstated. It also depends on the engine and the tear and wear that has accumulated with the passage of time. What you said about the looks of the oil as you got it changed may be a better indicator, or by opening up your used oil filter to see what was circulating all this time. Personally, since my engine is new, I don't have to care about the tear and wear. But I like to think that my oils are always new, so I play safe anyway. If you want to go with the 15k mark and you like to burn money for your car, as I do, try Redline and Torco oil. They are premium full synthetic oils, made in USA, primarly destined for racing use.

Not that I like to burn money on cars, it's that I like them running all the time. I am not sure they sell those oil brands here, I buy Shell mostly.

Look up for them, but in my opinion 15k kilometers if you want a car running all the time, I believe is much. Good day

It is, you have to add a little every 5000 or so, without knowing how much. That's my question really about, since it's impossible to read the oil level.
