What is this thing?

I have an engine warning light on the dashboard. Last time it went for an MOT they said that it's nothing to worry about and just a sensor playing up.

When looking at something else yesterday, I noticed this cable laying on the bottom in front of the radiator. I can't work out if that's right or if this might be the part that's causing some trouble.

Anyone able to tell me what it is??

If it's that it should be in a holder behind the lower grill
