hi all

I have looked on the net for the answer but cant find a comprehenisve answer so apologise if this is a duplicate post.

our 175k miles A2 TDI seems to have a fuel starvation problem at high speed when under load and hot, the power dies off. Im hoping its not the injectors gone.

anyway its going into taunton audi on friday for a diag scan, can someone enlighten me as to what this will show up and to what detail?

will it tell me if the injectors have got a leak or just low fuel pressure?

thanks

John

It'll tell you less than a scan performed with a full version of VCDS (was called Vag Com) - if you see the scan at all that is.

I would suggest getting a diagnostic done by a member forst of all (dunno who is nearest you though, possibly Ben).

I take it you have ruled out the fuel filter?

Cheers,

Mike

thanks Mike. well the car was serviced (by main stealership) only a month or so ago, so would doubt it would be blocked by now?

I bought a new filter last year from vagparts before they disappeared but could not find out where it was fitted. and when i did the one i got looked far too big in size for our a2.

i thought it was fittted under the drivers side sill under a alloy cover?

regards

John

You have the TDi John, in which case, the filter is on the nearside, just before the rear wheel.

You might have thought that the filter was changed, but it is not done so routinely by Audi, it is certainly not included on a standard service, so this might just be the cause.

Cheers,

Mike
