Picking up a chest of drawers 160x90x50 later today and will attempt to fit it in/ strap down with boot open.

As per title what's the biggest item you ever managed to transport with your A2 ? Pics welcome!

Not a single item, but helped my sister move from near Amsterdam to Hamburg (ca 500km). Rear seats etc removed, filled from rear legrooms to the ceiling with stuff. Largest item in there was mirror 160x82 diagonally in the middle. Took a while to fill and then empty it afterwards :D. Some runs with furniture to recycle yard too beforehand.

For me it was 4800+km free round trip. For sister cheaper than sending all by packets or getting movers to do it, especially since i brought back 2 people and plane tickets would already cost more than my whole trip. 1.2 averaged slightly above 3,5l/100km (80mpg uk) for trip in winter...

Did something similar in 2010 when my wife's family farm was being sold. Bought back numerous floor rugs, 2 chairs, loads of books, piles of linen, ornaments plus our 2 suitcases etc. All the important & no £ value stuff ;) 4,000 mile (6,400 km) round trip. I think Fed Ex would have been cheaper!! Only got 62 mpg - have a remap but a longer 5th gear. Must of had a heavy foot on the autobahn - I only got flashed once for being in the way ;)

Your 80 mpg is extremely good. Wait, you have a 1.2. Come on, you should have got 100 mpg ;)

Yeah, had all behind front seats packed with different stuff too, literally to the ceiling. She was planning to throw away more, but since A2 just kept swallowing stuff, she brought back more than she hoped.

Autobahn takes it's toll on 1.2 too sadly...
100mpg might be achieved in summer, not realistic in near zero temperature with winter tires. Wind was terrorizing me too in some parts :D. Wanted to do summer run too, but we all know how traveling situation is atm... But at least with warmer weather my average is 90mpg/tank doing everyday drivings.

62mpg would be impressive on 1.2, you'd have to constantly drive fast on autobahn ;). But i have gotten close to it... (in winter, when doing mainly small city and shopping trips) :D

Is there a category for largest item you were sure was going to fit into the A2 but then you had to lash to the roof instead?
"Of course it'll fit - the A2's a Tardis..."
If so, I offer ...the Egg chair - a lot bigger than you think once outside the shop.

Fortunately the same shop sold 25 metre lengths of plastic covered heavy duty steel core washing line so 10 mins of intricate lashing cable trough the frame in the car park had it secured. Did get asked if it was an igloo.
The cable looks just the same as that weak green garden twine so other cars kept well away from us on the drive home. Got up to 50 mph and it hadn't moved at all when came to unload.

The longest was a 3.1 meter set of double ladders. Entry was through the roof into the passenger footwell. Thankfully had some old carpet and towels to protect the glass. Got some funny looks driving home uphill to 2000 ft above sea level. Must have looked like something out of the keystone cops.
The biggest though is always the wife's handbag.;)

I transported a single garage roller door over 70 miles. I lowered the passenger seat, had to open glove compartment to get the spindle in…and the garage door just fitted in like magic, bit of padding around it and other end of spindle was out the back, tied the hatch down and away…Have garage door will travel!!
