Heya, I read from blaupunkt page that they have sky line and fun line of MP3-car radios.

the skyline looks cooler, but the my dealer said that funline Daytona MP53 is better for audi due to the fact that it suits dash-board lights better than Los Angeles MP72.

what's you guys opinion?

regards,
Singwood

So you want an opinion, right? ;)
Well, I'm not too fond of the looks of any Blaupunkt I saw on the website. I found the MP72 to have way to many little lights and stuff all over the place, also in the display. Not my taste. Couldn't find the MP53 on the dutch site...

But I can imagine that the mainly deep blue lighting of the MP72 does not really match the A2's red. VW's have blue all over, Audi doesn't.
Better matches are red (but IMHO an all red console is strange too) and light hues of blue to white.
Many radio have white lighting these days. Many have switchable colours, some can even blend thousands! My JVC has a blueish display and red button lights. Black faceplate. Light grey is too much of a contrast with the dash.

But it all depends on your own taste, doesn't it? Visit more dealers, and you'll probably run into a model that you fall in love with right away! Then stop thinking with your heart and see if it makes logical sense to want that model ;)

Good luck!

thank for your opinion. here is the MP53 I meant. it looks quite nice and fit in A2 well. I like the European designs better than those of Japanese. Simple and practical is the best I think!

Here it is

Can you share some of the pictures of your central deck? would be nice to learn what's cool out there!

Hi Singwood,

So you already got the MP53?
Well, I must say it looks better than I expected from the rather clinical image on Blaupunkt's website.

But...I still like the looks of my JVC better! Way simpler, IMO.

I'd gladly make some pictures. But I'm caught in the middle of too many 'projects' right now, including the installation of new dash-tweeters and cross-overs. I'll see if I can make some pictures while doing that. Either this weekend or the next. I hope.

Cheers, Edo
