Wheel refurbs

I'm thinking that while I've got my winter wheels on this "winter", I could get my TT alloys refurbished.
Can anyone recommend a wheel refurb service in South West London? What sort of price would I be looking for?
They've got the usual kerb rash, but are otherwise not too bad, but it would be nice to restore them to full glory.

Hi Dan,

a lot depends on if you want a cosmetic touch up or a proper refurb?

For the ultimate refurb I would recommend "The Wheel Wizard" near Brooklands (Just off junction 10 (I think) of the M25?)
But they are not cheap, you are looking at £100+ a wheel or thereabouts, but for that you get them crack tested, straightened and trued, stripped in an acid bath cleaned, coated and painted and looking brand new. I used them for the wheels on the project.

A bit OTT but worth it in the long run.

Around £60 a wheel for an average (but perfectly presentable) job. "The Paint Doctor" in Staines (the guy that sprayed my project) does a great job for a reasonable price (He did the wheels on my wife's A2 when he sprayed her car recently)

Less than £60 is a bit risky but there are some people who try to keep the costs down. (I don't personally know of anyone locally that can do a cheap but reasonable job like this though.

The wheels are in good shape overall, just the kerb rash really I think. I'll give the Paint Doctor a look - perhaps they can sort out the nasty scratch on the nearside passenger door too!

I have seen many of his scratch repairs, or should I say I have never seen any of his scratch repairs after he has done them (if you know what I mean?)

That was why I chose him for the project.

Evening Steve @Birchall

Do you know if he's still out there in Staines offering wheel refurbs, and any contact details?

I can only find a guy going by Paint Doctor based in Southampton.

Cheers, Al

Well worth the full refurb, I had a set of 4 done a couple of weeks ago (£90 per wheel inc vat in Leeds) and they look spectacular. They are effectively as good as brand new and whilst there were a couple of companies a bit cheaper, I got comfortable with the fact that there were Porsche’s, Lambos, Mercs and BMW’s from local dealers having theirs done.

If you can stretch then get the works. My car looks new when washed.

@spike thanks for the heads-up. If anyone knows of a similarly good wheel refurb place South East London or South West London way that they can recommend, that would be welcome.

@Jeetesh you sound delighted, nice to hear and nothing like a good looking set of wheels to cheer up a daily drive! ?

Not really South London by I refurbished my alloys last year at First Aid Wheels , NW6. Chose this place after a long search, based on a solid feedback. (I am quite fussy when it comes to quality and willing to travel for the right craftsmanship) Quality was impeccable. Paid £260+VAT, which is quite reasonable considering it's London.

Completely agree with @Birchall that Wheel Wizzard http://thewheelwizard.ltd.uk/ in Cobham work magic! Have had a number of wheels restored, including buckles removed from standard A2 16", plus complete reburbishments on more exotic types. Highly recommend. Best in Surrey.
