Wheel spacers

I'm considering fitting spacers to my A2. I've had a look at the definitive wheel & tyre guide and was considering these:
5x100/112 57.1 15mm Hubcentric Alloy Wheel Spacers VW Golf Audi A1 A3 A4 + Bolts from ebay. I have 15 wheels with 185/55 tyres fitted. Could anyone confirm these be ok to fit, without risk of rubbing?

Yes these should fit I have similar set up on mine as wanted these rare Audi A8 forged lightweight alloys and I’m running 205 50 16 tyres flush with wheel arch no rubbing what so ever great ride ..offset is et 42

Original Wheel offset will play a role in whether they will rub or not adding 15mm spacers will adjust the offset.

Would want to keep the offset between ET30 and ET42

WILL THEY FIT ? <--- good visualisation tool for how the change in offset, wheel width or tire size will effect wheel orientation to the strut and face of the hub.

If you are adding 15mm spacers you need to take away 15 from the wheel offset (ET38 - 15mm = ET 23) which is too wide !

The width of the wheels will obviously also have an effect on the offset or ET and how low you of an ET you can go down to without the wheels protruding the arches and being illegal.

Rubbing is normally more common on the inner arches on the front under full lock and generally due to oversized tyres so a lower ET wouldn't add to that, in fact quite the opposite.

As others have said only use the correctly drilled 5x100 hubcentric spacers with a 57.1mm centre bore and don't forget you will need the appropriately longer wheel bolts to coincide with the width of spacers ?

Yes the ET followed by the number will either be stamped on the rear of one of the spokes or under the centre cap by the bolt holes.

From what you've described, 185/55 tyres on 15" wheels you shouldn't have a problem at all especially if the suspension is standard as there should be plenty of clearance and if they are original A2 wheels they will be quite narrow anyway.

They will purely sit 15mm further outwards due to the 15mm spacer so it should be fairly easy to judge how they will be just by using a ruler or tape measure.

Don't forgot the longer bolts though as some people don't bother and use the original bolts which is a serious safety issue ?

I'll have a look tomorrow, thanks. I couldn't imagine there being ny real problems, as they're the wheels shown in the photo. Point taken about the multi-stud ones. I want them to be as strong as possible.

That's easy. They're 5.5J rims,s, ET34. They position correctly without any spacers at all.
