Wheel speed sensor vcds??

I've had a wheel speed sensor fault on the Dune project for a week.

Today I fitted a new Bilstein sensor and replaced the loom because it was a bodge job of 3 core cable and glue.

It's all right now, but I'm still getting the and speed sensor fault on the dash and scanner.

My question is, does a new speed sensor have to be programmed in with vcds?

No, have you driven the car since replacing the sensor? The ABS links in to a couple of systems and only fully resets after a short drive. These systems are ABS, ASR and steering angle sensor with a bit of yaw sensor for good measure. If you have replaced the part and cleared the error code then take the car around the block and rescan to verify all clear, warning light should also go out.

Yes, cleared the fault with my scanner and then took for a test drive. It's while on the test drive that the light comes on again and the new code for front right wheel sensor is picked up.

Either the sensor is faulty , the wiring is faulty or the reluctor ring is faulty.. That is assuming the wheel bearing is good and the wheel is round. Have you hit a bad pot hole recently. Silly question really as all roads are now terrible.
