Where does this tube go? :)

I opened my bonnet this morning and noticed a plastic pipe / tube that seemed to be lacking a home. One end was connected to the windscreen water drain (i.e. all water running off the windscreen - a lot of water!) and the other end was just left hanging in the middle of nowhere. This struck me as very odd as there are lots of parts under there that really shouldn't have water flowing onto them.

I took this picture, you can see the tube in my hand. Can someone help me work out where the free end should go (please keep it clean! ;) )

Thanks for any help. Prompt replies appreciated - I need to go on a long drive this afternoon and am not sure the rain will hold off.

See the bigger pipe to the left with the other corrugated pipe going into it? Well ordinarily, the free pipe is cable tied alongside it, so that the water drains down past the crash member down there.
