Will a GRJ fit (easy) on an AMF?

I still have this ATL TDI with a GRJ gearbox. The ATL went beyond repair due to an accident, and it's replacement is an AMF TDI.
Now the AMF is making a lot of rpm's at highway cruising (130/140 km/hour)........ nothing new there.

Long story short; What woul'd it take to fit a GRJ to an AMF.

Will I need a new flywheel, because the ATL has a DMF (bigger diameter?) and the AMF not, and if so, can it then also be a G60 flywheel? Or could I use the AMF SMF flywheel and clutch (which is changed last year by the former owner), and if so will the startermotor still be able to connect into the flywheel, or/and will the gearbox then doing the rattle gear noise thingy when I do use a SMF?
Ofcourse I did some research on this forum, but most of it is about fitting a JDD, or transform the gearbox to a 6 speed.
I think the GRJ is a nice gearbox that will sit between an standard AMF gearbox and a JDD in terms of gear ratio's, and I've got it lying around.......
The best way woul'd be to get on with it and just try to fit it.......... But if there are any A2 specialists that know more, then all the information I could get is a bonus and could prevent me of not having to let the A2 just standing there day's/weeks waiting for parts.
I'm not in a rush to get things installed, but it would be nice that when I start with the job it can be finished in 1 or 2 days, hence the question.

Thanx for reading my cr*p English ?, Cheers, Menno.

I’ve done the MYP swap on my TDI90 which as you know, used to have the GRJ.
I think all you need to do is fit the GRJ bell-housing spacer, stay with the AMF SMF and starter, but I’m not certain.

Aha, yes correct me if I'm wrong; the MYP is used with a DMF normally too on other VAG/Audi cars. Did you installed it with a DMF or with a SMF?
The spacer is there to give way to the DMF I pressume, because it's a bit bigger in dimensions, or is there another reason for the spacer to be there?

I retained the DMF. Actually, I kept the spacer too, but I should have removed it as others have.
Remember the starter pinion throw needs to be right so it meshes sufficiently far into the flywheel teeth, but not too far. I now have the starter from the CAYC Passat 1.6tdi which the MYP was originally fitted to because the old AMF starter had insufficient mesh, damaging the flywheel ring gear teeth a little and also wrecking the starter freewheel. On my car the clutch action is starting to become a bit dodgy in that the pedal doesn’t always return all the way to the top and I expect this to get worse with clutch wear, I expect that this is because I’ve got the spacer.

Ah, yes, I saw that posting about the flywheel/startermotor trouble.
Thanx for sharing!
