Window switches

Just replaced the drivers side pair of switches and the passenger side single switch. Just over £36 from Audi for the lot. The black surface is not rubberised as before so should not peel.
Fairly easy job, drivers side being the worse of the two.
Well worth doing, look as good as new.

Good to know that they've changed the surface now to prevent re-occurance.

Ours has all flaked off too. That job can wait until the rattles have been sorted though.

its all about priorities I guess. Don't have the rattles on this one to contend with.
Seats need a good shampoo mind!

 Are they still 8Z0 part numbers? Only the switch for thr driver's window is worn in mine but I bet you have to buy all four as a unit :(

The drivers side unit is a pair of two. They're curved. The passenger side is a single unit thats not curved. Assuming you do not have rear electric windows.
Will find part numbers on receipts.

I bet they did not.
All window switches 1999-2002 ( incl. model year 2002) are non rubber surface and the later version 2003 and newer are with this rubber surface. (but radio and klimate control panel are with this rubber surface from model year 2002 (6/2001) and newer).
So I think the replcement was with the "wrong", non rubber parts. Or used parts...

The parts supplied by Audi were new for sure and matched my vehicles VIN number too for fitment.
Not sure I want flaking rubber again so these are a great improvement and fit perfectly.
Not anal enough to want poor quality replacements just because that's how it was new.
