Windscreen washer pump replacement help

My windscreen washer pump has seized after 20 years of fault-free service. Went today to B&F for my annual service, hoping they could replace it with a OEM spare one I recently bought. Turns out the part was no bueno (part n. 3B7 955 681).
So, in order to avoid buying another dud part, anyone here can recommend the correct part? No alibaba/ temu parts....Ideally OM and made in Europe.

Weirdly, typing the number you quoted into eBay does also bring up a few washer pump listings that mention the A2. Putting the same number into 7zap reveals that this is indeed the pump for the headlamp wash system - Is your car equipped with headlamp washers or at least the tank?

Are you sure it's the windscreen washer pump you need?

Weirdly, typing the number you quoted into eBay does also bring up a few washer pump listings that mention the A2. Putting the same number into 7zap reveals that this is indeed the pump for the headlamp wash system - Is your car equipped with headlamp washers or at least the tank?

Nope, no headlamp wash system. Just the windscreen washer pump is needed.

I had exactly the same problem myself last week and ordered this from Amazon. It looks identical to the original made by Febi. Worked perfectly, which also confirmed original wiring loom was working perfectly too. Not bad for £8.45

My black car has a twin one fitted from a B5 passat, any vag one of the same vintage should be fine I imagine!

If you want the OEM pump, it’s Hella or VDO/Continental.

They’re made in Switzerland or Czechia

They’re about 3x the price of Febi however

Same as the one I fitted to the Sprinter last year, ok it’s only been a year but this is going strong / just checked AUTODOC for the A2 and same pump
