Hey guys,
Just cracked and bought a 2003 1.4 tdi. Love driving it (well, only been out for one camping trip) but to be honest I think I've been a little bit done. Supposed to have passed its technical control (Frances 2 year equivalent of an MOT) but the windscreen wipers don't work, front or rear. Makes me have major doubts about its fitness to be honest.
Anyway, nothing happens at all with the stick, except I can skoosh fluid on the front windscreen. Checked the #6 fuse with a voltmeter and that seems good.
From threads here, I'm thinking of checking the relay and trying to get a new one. Looks like 30 euros for one.
I'm not a huge car maintainace guy but like tinkering.
My question is could it be the relay of the window fluid comes out but no movement of wipers (nor any sounds like they are trying) and if so is it a reasonable DIY job to accomplish?
I got a guarantee but only for engine and gearbox...
