Well its cold and wet a great day for an mot. Our only A2 now needs an mot after it got deferred in the first lock down - the factory white TDI sport we purchased in (if i remember correctly) in 2008 with 60ish k miles. Now its on 217.000 ! so one of the usual jobs before the mot test is washer fluid so on opening the service flap i noticed that the flap release/catch was sticking resulting in the flap not "latching shut". So out with the trusty wd40 a little spray and work it inyo the little plastic plunger and its back to smooth operation. Another job i like to get done is leaf removal and clearing of the bonnet vents-rubber ducks bills on the underside of the bonnet. They are easily removed and emptied of rotting debris. OK its not any part of the mot but it sure helps keeping the engine clean and not allowing water to settle in parts you don't want.So i highly recommend you do these two simple jobs.
The mot test went well and only advisory was front tyres both wearing on inner edges - typical of a lowered A2. A great testament to a good servicing regime, but isn't it nice to not have to worry about body rotting away. Stay safe people now whens the next social ? lol cheers mike

do you know if the suspension is adjustable for camber etc ? when the car was lowered was an alignment done ?

No camber adjustment on A2s. You can only 'equalise' the setting by adjusting the sub frame side to side

There are aftermarket top mounts which allow adjustment but I don't know if there are models to suit the A2

Cheers Spike

yes a full 4 wheel allignment was done as we had the rear axle also replaced to get a disc braked axle. In all of our A2's (4 in total) all been lowered slightly and running 17" rims the inside has always wears quicker.

Ha ha, I've been putting together the planned social calendar, but so wary of jinxing it by publishing it. I had such a successful first year as social secretary ?

Do you have an idea of a location etc in mind ?
We try to cover a range of areas as much as we can. We have regular events like Audis in the Park and Kimbolton Country Fayre that we go to (Midlands), and always open to ideas or suggestions for new events. We also have members who will arrange events in their local area (we have had some great Welsh and Scottish tours, organised by club members).
I'll post up a provisional list at the weekend and keep my fingers crossed ?
