Wiper won't turn off!

I have been driving my diesel A2 for over a year without any issues. Today I started it up and flicked the switch to wash and clear the screen. The wiper did not stop after the usual 3 or 4 sweeps, it just kept going. I have tried the arm/switch in all positions but it just keeps going. I have pulled the fuse out now.
Are there any easy fixes or is it time for a new wiper arm switch?

That does sound like your wiper arm switch

I can send you you one for £5 plus postage if it helps. None dis one. I.e. no rocker switch on the end

Cheers. Paul

I was going to suggest the Relay. I got a second hand Relay from a Breakers for a previous A6. It was the same as the A2. I diagnosed that as being a faulty Relay by swapping the one from the A2 to the A6. Our A2 no longer does the immediate Wipe when you move the intermittent delay switch. I don’t know if that’s the Relay. It has been suggested it might be that, or just a bad Earth.

Thanks to all for the replies. Driving it today there also seem to be some other issues that have developed with the windows. I think I will have to book it in with the local VW/Audi specialist next week.
